First edition. Complete, with 11 folding engraved plates. Contemporary leather spine with gilt titles. Hardback boards. These are significantly rubbed - particularly the front board, which has an area of surface loss. Binding is holding very well though. First blank end paper has silverfish damage. The rest of the book is in good, clean condition, with a little darkening to the pages and a touch of marking to the top edge (not affecting text). The folding plates are pretty good condition, with a touch of darkening / bumping to the edges. A few small closed tears to the edges of some plates only. Overall a decent copy of a scarce first edition. French architectural writings 16th to 19th century. Armand Joseph Marie de Saint-Félix (1794-1866), Marquis de Mauremont and Count of Cajarc. He was a Legitimist politician, was one of the 40 maintainers of the Jeux Floraux (The Floral Games were instituted in 1323 in Toulouse by seven troubadours to maintain courtly lyricism.
