No obstant això, des de molt prompte, durant els anys de la dictadura de Ceausescu, havia escrit en romanès altres obres, la majori…a de les quals no es van representar llavors a Romania, cosa que no és d'estranyar pels dards crítics que llançava al règim, sovint falsament dissimulats en la ironia o el suggeriment. Les tres obres que reuneix aquest volum pertanyen a aqueix període i comparteixen, a més, dos trets: són relativament curtes i l'animal hi té un paper important: el gos, el cavall i l'aranya, respectivament. "El bolsillo del pan" posa en escena dos homes que discuteixen inútilment sobre com salvar un gos abandonat en un pou. "Caballos en la ventana" mostra una inquietant conducta d'uns cavalls mentre assistim a tres diàlegs sobre la guerra -viscuda o per viure. "La araña en la herida" ens trasllada a l'escena de la crucifixió, el que permet a l'autor indagar sobre els éssers humans en una situació extrema. En les tres obres es desplega el geni artístic de Matei Visniec per a fer-nos esbossar un somriure amarg.
