Thomas Becket was venerated as a saint and martyr by the Catholic Church and the Anglican Communion. He engaged in conflict with Henry II, King of England, over the rights and privileges of the Church and was murdered by followers of the king in Canterbury Cathedral. Soon after his death, he was canonised by Pope Alexander III. Contains (vi)-2, 322 pp, subjects flagged in the margins for easy reference. What follows is a longhand summation of each question, showing working out and the final answer.Written by Master Thompson, master and curator at Blenheim House School. In half morocco. Externally worn, with lifting to lower extremity of backstrip. Rubbing to joints and extremities. Rear free endpaper is detached but present. Hinges strained. Marks to boards.
