Leather bound. Illustrated. 321-416; 9-272pp. Folio [48.5 cm] 3/4 red leather with speckled paper covered boards, raised bands and a gilt stamped title on the spine. Fair. The covers are scratched and rubbed. The rear cover is detached, but present. There is very large abraded patch in the paper of the rear cover, revealing the underlying boards. This patch measures 5 inches tall by 1 inch wide. The paper of the rear board is also heavily moisture rippled. The underlying boards are exposed extensively along the edges. There is 2 inch long closed tear in the leather at the head of the spine, and there is a small loss from the leather at the foot of the spine. The edges of the endsheets and flyleaves are darkened and foxed. There is a contemporary notation on the front free endsheet. There are occasional dark stains on the pages. Large tape repairs to pp. 322 and 323. Pages 149-152 have open and closed tears in the fore edges. The largest tear is closed, and measures 6 inches long. As is.
