This duodecimo edition published in Nottingham by R. Dowson. Additional known provincial editions printed in 1814 from Gainsborough and Paisley and Middletown by Hart & Lincoln. The works of Rev. John Mason, 1646-94, originally published by his grandson in the mid-eighteenth-cenutry, with numerous subsequent editions in multiple formats. Popular for its spiritual and moral guidance, it was recommended by the renowned eighteenth-century English Congregational minister, Isaac Watts.
