This duodecimo edition published in Nottingham by R. Dowson. Additional known provincial editions printed in 1814 from Gainsborough and Paisley and Middletown by Hart & Lincoln. The works of Rev. John Mason, 1646-94, originally published by his grandson in the mid-eighteenth-cenutry, with numerous subsequent editions in multiple formats. Popular for its spiritual and moral guidance, it was recommended by the renowned eighteenth-century English Congregational minister, Isaac Watts. Rebound in modern cloth with end papers renewed, rear blank retained. Externally, excellent. Slight fading to spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright, though age toned with some soiling to leaves. Archival tape repairs to title page at gutter.
