First Edition. Octavo (23.5cm); green cloth-covered boards with titling stamped in black on spine and front cover; 412pp; black-and-white photographic halftones and map illustrations throughout. This copy is from the library of noted poet, translator, and anthropologist Nathaniel Tarn (1928-2024), with his pictorial bookplate to front pastedown. A Near Fine copy. Collection of essays presented in 1984 at Dumbarton Oaks, including Robert J. Sharer's "Quirigua as a Classic Maya Center", Claude F. Baudez's "Solar Cycle and Dynastic Succession in the Southeast Maya Zone", and Kenneth G. Hirth's "Beyond the Maya Frontier: Cultural Interaction and Syncretism along the Central Honduran Corridor". Spiral. Zustand: Good. Self published oblong mimeo 22,5 x 15 with two hole punches tied with string. 76 pages + TOC and paper wraps. Recipes with the name of the contributor for each. Heavily worn wraps, corner wear, otherwise fine. Additional recipe written on back of page 5 with no other markings. No publisher information or dates. Authors listed in the sequential order they appear in the book. Due to the contents (jello, for example) I would suspect 1960s or 70s. Most of these contributors were from Manteca, California and the Midwestern,Tex Mex, Chinese and Italian American recipes would be consistent with that assumption. Book.
