Battle honors include the Battle of Bennington during the Revolutionary War, Chancellorsville, Gettysburg, and Cold Harbor during the Civil War, the Battle for Santiago during the Spanish American War, and St. Mihiel and the Meuse-Argonne during the First World War. The 104th was awarded the Croix de Guerre by the French GOvernment, becoming the first American military uhity to be decorated by a foreign power.
