[book is in perfect condition, jacket likewise but for one tiny closed tear at the top front hinge; slipcase is also Fine, still encased in publisher's shrinkwrap except for where it was opened to permit extraction of the book]. (B&W and color photographs) Lavishly-produced and heavily-illustrated chronicle of the last three years of the iconic actor's life (1977-1980), as recounted by his third and last wife, who also took the vast majority of the hundreds of photos in the book. There wasn't a lot of movie-making going on during that period -- only McQueen's last two films, TOM HORN and THE HUNTER, are covered -- but there sure was plenty of motorcycle-riding, airplane-flying, toy-collecting, beer-drinking, and hair-and-beard-growing to pass the time during what is claimed here to have been "his most peaceful years," after he'd retreated from his life of celebrity -- "laying aside all his Hollywood stuff to become a real person," says Barbara. Included is a CD containing a 45-minute recording of McQueen reviewing his script notes for TOM HORN. (This is #803 of an edition of 2000, and is signed by both Barbara McQueen (nee Minty) and Marshall Terrill on the limitation page at the front of the book.) ***NOTE: Additional shipping charges for this heavy book will apply for non-U.S. customers; please inquire before placing your order.***. …
