Mounted Photograph. Zustand: Very Good. A rare photograph of the Duke of Kent on an official wartime shipyard tour in Vancouver, B.C., where, on Aug. 19th, 1941, the Prince made his first public speech in Canada. This photo was taken just months before the Prince's death in an 1942 air crash, and helps to document his movements prior to that tragic and untimely event. A photographer signed and dated photograph, measuring 10 x 12 inches wide, mounted onto a 13.25 x 14.5 inch wide mount, signed and dated by the photographer at lower left corner. Photo has just minor mirroring noticeable ; the war time standard (i.e. poor quality) card mount has a modest curve and is toned with small bumps to edges. The Duke of Kent was an Air Commodore serving on the RAF Inspector General's staff and made many official visits to RAF stations to help raise wartime morale.
