The present work is an unaltered reprint of the collected works of P. L. Chevyshev published in two volumes in St. Petersburg. It contains all of Chebyshev's post-doctoral mathematical writings. A doctoral thesis, published in german translation as "Theorie der Congruenzen", may be issued as a separate volume. Préface: (.) L'édition comprendra deux volumes. Elle refermera tous les travaux imprimés du vivant de l'auteur, sauf deux thèses publiées à part: une thèse pour le grade de magistre: "Essai d'analyse élementaire de la théorie des problbilités", Moscou, 1845, et und thèse de doctorat: "Théorie des congruences", St.-Pétersbourg, 1849.
