New types of ion exchangers are synthetized and their application possibilitics are still growing. Eight chapters of this monograph are divided into three parts and two appendices. The first part of the book describes the general characteristics and basic properties of ion exchangers and ion-exchanging processes. It also deals with the properties of commercially produced ion-exchanging materials and summarizes a great amount of data on the equilibrium distribution coefficients of various ions for a series of selected systems. These data may help the reader in the choice of an appropriate ion exchanger and working procedure for a given purpose. The appendices contain various auxilliary data and a comprehensive summary of monographs dealing with ion exchangers.
