In den WarenkorbFirst edition of this poetry collection, including an introduction and a new poem by Yeats, "At Barcelona". Inspired by Margot Ruddock, Yeats's poem is better known under its later title, "A Crazed Girl", from the opening line: "That crazed girl improvising her music, / Her poetry, dancing upon the shore." (p. vii). The Lemon Tree was the sole poetry collection of Margot Ruddock (1907-1951), an English actress, singer, and aspiring poet. In 1934 she began a tumultuous affair with Yeats, who published some of her work in the Oxford Book of Modern Verse. Their correspondence was collected in Roger McHugh's Ah, Sweet Dancer (1970). Wade 284. Duodecimo. Original grey boards, spine lettered in blue, top edge blue. With dust jacket. Inscription of one W. Butterworth to front free endpaper. Spine ends lightly bumped, spine and edges toned, boards bowed; jacket a little browned, a few nicks and closed tears, small chips to spine ends, unclipped: a very good copy in like jacket.
