In den Warenkorb141/200 COPIES, a single folded leaf, a couple of tiny spots not close to text, pp. [2], foolscap 8vo, minor creasing at extremities, very good condition. Inscribed on the front cover, 'With Compliments of Arthur Rogers'; though without mark of ownership, the copy of Siegfried Sassoon. Scarce; Arthur Rogers was a Newcastle bookseller, who had sent the poem printed to the internal verso here, being 'Thoughts on the Present Discontent, Occasioned by the Reading of "This Year: Next Year" by Walter de la Mare', with the author's response - 'In a Library' ('a real poem!', Rogers remarks) - printed on the facing recto. In an amusing note beneath his work, Rogers avers that 'the poetic efforts of booksellers are rare, and as curiosities worthy of preservation' - the poem refers directly to his profession, a lean spell being the basis for the titular state of mind.
