Frits Lugt (1884 - 1970) not only assembled an impressive art collection, he also had a keen eye for ancient craftsmanship: Egyptian antiquities, Greek pottery, terracotta, sculpture and glassware from Egypt, Greece and Rome. The artefacts are displayed in three cabinets in the reception room of the Hõtel Turgot, the 18th-century seat of the Fondation Custodia in Paris.
