L'autore morì nel 1739, questa del 1748 è la prima edizione dopo la morte, con un ristretto della vita e le poesie degli Arcadi in suo onore. Quest'opera fu ripubblicata con alcune aggiunte, nel 1760 da Lelio della Volpe e Gamba cita questa come l'edizione più stimata d'ogni altra, fu ristampata da Bodoni nel 1793. Non è stata trovata copia nelle Biblioteche italiane di questa edizione, così come nei repertori consultati. Gamba 552 ; Brunet, citano l'ed. del 1760.

La visita si svolse nell'ottobre - novembre del 1716 e si concluse con la formazione di due partiti: Manfredi, Galiani e Grandi a favore del progetto di immissione del Reno mentre la Congregazione delle acque confermo' la validita' del progetto Gugliemini del 1693. Nella diatriba entrarono a questo punto entrarono anche Modena, Ferrara , Mantova, l'Impero asburgico, preoccupati per le conseguenze cui avrebbero potuto andare incontro i loro territori. Le tavole incluse consentono l'applicazione pratica dei procedimenti illustrati, facilitando operazioni quali la conversione temporale, la correzione delle coordinate e la previsione di eventi astronomici."In 1715 Manfredi completed his two-volume Ephemerides motuum coelestium for 1715-1725, based on the still unpublished tables of Cassini in Paris, his predecessor in the chair of astronomy at Bologna. Intended, unlike most of its predecessors, not for astrological use but for practical astronomy, the ephemerides were of unusual extent and practicability. They included tables of the meridian crossing of the planets, tables of the eclipses of the satellites of Jupiter and of the conjunction of the moon and the principal stars, as well as maps of the regions of the earth affected by solar eclipses. Manfredi war u.a. ab 1699 Dozent für Mathematik an der Universität Bologna und Gründer der Accademia degli Inquieti, die später mit dem Instituto delle scienze, der heutigen Accademia delle scienze dell'Instituto, fusionierte. Exemplar in eher schlechtem Zustand. Rückdeckel fehlt, Vordedeckel fast vollständig gelöst, mit Feuchtigkeitsfleck und Randläsionen. Buchblock gewellt. Seiten mit unbegradigten Stegen. Ehemaliges Bibliotheksexemplar mit entsprechenden Kennzeichnungen. Lettera dell'astronomo, matematico e poeta italiano Manfredi (1674-1739) al matematico Domenico Quartaroni (1651-1736), in cui difende le idee dell'astronomo italiano Francesco Bianchini (1662-1729) sul miglioramento del calendario. Manfredi fu, tra l'altro, docente di matematica all'Università di Bologna dal 1699 e fondatore dell'Accademia degli Inquieti, poi confluita nell'Istituto delle scienze, l'attuale Accademia delle scienze dell'Istituto. Copia in condizioni piuttosto precarie. Manca la copertina posteriore, quella anteriore è quasi completamente staccata, con macchie di umidità e lesioni marginali. Blocco del libro arricciato. Pagine con barre irregolari. Copia di ex biblioteca con relativi segni di riconoscimento. la Gewicht in Gramm: 530.
