Hardcover. Zustand: Good. No Jacket. Sir Edward John Poynter (illustrator). 1st Edition. I am happy to offer a vintage copy, a bit battered, of a portfolio of: "Drawings of Sir E.J. Poynter Bart. P.R.A." with an essay by Malcolm Bell. This book was published by George Newnes Limited of London and although undated, research suggests 1905. There is a tipped-in, color Frontispiece and 47 other full-page plates (2 of which are missing- Nos. 3 & 22). A number of the plates are tipped-in. There is an eleven-page essay about the works of the artist by Malcolm Bell. This portfolio was apparently published as part of the "Modern Master Draughtsmen" series by the publisher. Condition: This book is in good condition only, in the main because of the two missing plates. The boards are also worn with loss of outer finish at the corners and spine tips. The titles and decorations on the cover are almost lost to the dust-dulling but the titles on the spine are quite legible. As mentioned, two plates are missing but the interior pages and plates are clean and without toning or foxing (there are few specks of brown on plate 14 but I believe those are from soiling). The binding is shaken and some of the essay pages could probably be extracted but with the exception of the two missing plates, all the pages are present. This book is not ex-library or a remainder.
