In den WarenkorbHardcover. Zustand: Near Fine. 1st Edition. First English Translation / First Printing.Octavo (8vo), pp. 141, [9, adverts]. Features original emblematic illustrative ornaments and a large black and white fold-out frontispiece plate ("Alchemical Aviary") by noted artist Benjamin A. Vierling. Publisher's original tan cloth binding, with titles stamped sharply in black to the spine and front board. Near Fine condition, showing only a very small, negligible bump to the bottom edge of the spine, otherwise sharp, square, and immaculate. Internally pristine, tight, and completely unread; a Fine copy throughout. Housed in the original pictorial white dust jacket, which is in Fine condition and has been placed into a protective Mylar sleeve. The Hawk acts as the defense attorney, while the Phoenix serves as the final judge and arbiter, ultimately pronouncing the Owl as the rightful Queen of Birds due to her sacred attachment to Pallas Athena and her serious wisdom. A beautiful example of contemporary Renaissance-style book typography and an essential addition to any library of alchemy, hermeticism, or esoteric lore. …
