Der Doktorvater Daniel Maichel aus Stuttgart studierte in Leiden (Holland), war Prälat in Hirsau, Professor der Theologie und Dekan der philosophischen Fakultät an der Universität Tübingen. Seine Tochter war die Stiefmutter von Philipp Matthäus Hahn.
