Hardcover. Zustand: Good. Leather spine with gilt bands, volume number, and title plate with some wear but generally attractive. The exterior hinges are cracked and on the verge of splitting, despite this binding is still square and sturdy. Leather corner tips are rubbed and there is visible wear to the marble boards. The text is generally clean and crisp except for the last 20 pages where there is a large dampstain leaving a brown stain that soaked all the way through the back board (see photos). It also left a bleached stain on all three marbled page edges. All of the text is still readable. The Inside front board has the customized book plate of Admiral Duff (1858). Scarce title. 274 p. Book.
