There were eventually five volumes, with the fifth volume a collaboration between Mackenna and B.S Page. In original quarter cloth bindings with paper covered boards. Externally, generally smart. Some marks to boards and minor rubbing to the head and tail of spine. Spine labels are faded. Spine label to volume I is chipped and lifting. Some offsetting to endpapers.
