Full-Leather. Zustand: Good. First Edition. 692 pages. Lacking the half-title page. After the title page the preface follows on pages xi-xii but there is no evidence that any pages are missing. Short closed tears on pages 77/78, 79/80, 441/442, 443/444, most of pages 437-440 are torn out, tear and wear at bottom of spine. The black leather binding is blind stamped showing a beaver and decorations on the front and rear cover. Covers show some shelf wear. A treasure trove of information and a snap shot picture of Canada in 1851. Full of advertisements. From page 595 to the end are advertisements from the United States, mainly from cities in New York and Massachusetts: Boston, Buffalo, New York, Rochester etc.
