Pages crisp and clean except for a prior owner's book plate at the front endpaper and a corner fold on page 195; binding square and secure, hard cover rubbed at head and heel edges and frayed in one spot on the spine head, otherwise clean and sound. Jacket has some short, open tearing at corners and spine ends and additional wear around the edges as well as some toning at the spine, but remains overall attractive, now protected in a clear sleeve. 253pp. w/index.…

Hardcover. Zustand: Very Good. No Jacket. Complete set of this very scarce standard edition, published from 1951-1969. Some of the volumes are later corrected reprints. 7 Volumes of Poems, actually 6 but volume 3 is in two parts, 4 Volumes of Homer Translations and a final volume containing the index to the poems. Still the standard edition. Reissued by Routledge in 1997 for a whopping GBP 2400. This is the original in very good condition. Bindings are only lightly marked. Some darkening. Handwritten dedication on front endpaper of Volume 2, Previous owners name on the verso of the titlepage of volume 3.2. No internal signs of use. I have the dustwrappers to the first 7 volumes but they are foxed and not particularly nice.…

Twelve hardcovers, complete, in near fine condition with slight shelf wear and writing on one page in one book (VII, see last photo), clean tan boards with embossed gilt & burgundy text, white text blocks, crisp white pages, no ownership marks. Given the writing observed on one page, every single page of all 12 volumes were reviewed and it is confirmed there is no other writing on any other pages, also no creases, dog-eared pages or tears. Volumes include prefaces to the first edition, introductions, plates, notes, lists of abbreviations, tables, appendixes, indexes, and more. Beautiful, scarce set. 5-5/8 x8 3/4".
