hard bound. Zustand: Gut. " Gebraucht - Gut Neurosurgeons: Stay Up to Date! Image-Guided Neurosurgery: Clinical Applications of Surgical Navigation A generation ago, computerized technology (CT, MRI, digital angiography) allowed neurosurgeons to peer inside their patients by non-surgical means, providing powerful new diagnostic tools. Realizing that such tools would be valuable for more than just examination, neurosurgeons devised equipment and techniques to use the spatial information from such images for guidance during surgery. Advances and refinements in the technology have provided neurosurgeons with truly interactive navigational information, such as location and orientation during surgical procedures, allowing them gain more accuracy in their procedures. Now these navigational systems are becoming commercially available. Image-Guided Neurosurgery isn't a \"gee-whiz\" overview of the technology. It is the first book to focus on the clinical applications that you can put to work immediately. The authors take a hands-on approach to selected problems and explain in detail (with generous illustrations) the best procedures for the situation. In addition, they discuss the economic impact of image-guided neurosurgery. Anyone on the neurosurgery staff will find this work to be an excellent source of information. Benefits Reduce your patients' recovery time. Learn to use the technology to make optimal incisions. Broaden your skills and your practice with the procedures the media are promoting - and patients are demanding. Reduce your learning curve and master the eye-hand coordination that is so important in minimally invasive neurosurgery. Use the outcome data and socioeconomic information to help justify the purchase of a navigation system. About the Authors Gene H. Barnett, M.D., Department of Neurological Surgery, The Cleveland Clinic Foundation; David Roberts, M.D., Department of Neurological Surgery, Dartmouth Medical Center; and Robert Maciunas, M.D., Department of Neurological Surgery, Vanderbilt University. All three are internationally recognized in the field of frameless stereotaxy (surgical navigation). Audience: Neurosurgeons, neurologists, and neurosurgery staff will benefit from this well-written and well-illustrated product. Contents (abridged) Fundamentals of Registration; Pitfalls; Strategies for Target and Trajectory Guidance; Surgical Navigation System Technologies; Minimal Access Craniotomy; Cerebral Metastatic Disease; Intracranial Gliomas; Intracranial Meningioma; Transsphenoidal Hypophysectomy; Vascular Malformations; Spinal Surgery; Epilepsy; Hydrocephalus; Skull-Based Neurosurgery; Brain Biopsy and Related Procedures; Cyberknife Radiosurgery; Definition of Functional Anatomy; Intraoperative MRI; Economic Impact of Interactive Surgical navigation One-Year Outcome Data After Resection of Malignant Glioma ".

Buch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - Today neurological surgery stands at a technological crossroads. Revolutionary advances in high-speed graphic computers, informatics, biotechnology, and robotics continue to change the field and open vast new possibilities for improved patient care. In this new book, the world-renowned team of neurosurgeons, computer scientists, software engineers and others who have led these technological transformations chronicle the advances at work in everyday patient care, as well as revolutionary new systems now under development. The book includes full information on transferring medical data into mapping strategies, viewing the clinical applications of stereotaxis, and observing fascinating new image-guided neurosurgical procedures in actual clinical practice. Most importantly, there is a full comparison of the different systems now in use so that the surgeon can make intelligent decisions about which to purchase.Complete with 547 illustrations, including 170 in full-color, the book goes further than any current work in documenting the evolution of modern neurosurgical navigation. All neurosurgeons, especially those working in modern intracranial, spinal and peripheral nerve techniques, will find it invaluable, as will neuroradiologists, radiation oncologists, general surgeons, and biomedical engineers.

"An Exhibition of Artists' Books and Multiples from the Permanent Collection of Art Metropole. LEARN TO READ ART is an exhibition of 287 published works by artists from the postwar period to the present. Although the contemporary artist's book emerged early in the twentieth century, it was not until the sixties that it came into its own as a medium ideally suited to the needs of Fluxus and Conceptual artists of the period thus our exhibition picks up this thread of history in the postwar years and follows it into that period of intense evolution which was the sixties and early seventies." ?- AA Bronson, General Idea, from introduction. Softcover. Zustand: Very Good. First edition. Illustrated with black and white photographs. Edited by Jon Hendricks. Quarto. 229pp. Perfectbound glossy white wrappers. Very good with pages somewhat toned, corners slight creases and some general wear. A catalog of the collection of Gilbert and Lila Silverman produced in 1983 on the occasion of an exhibition held at the Neuberger Museum of the State University of New York at Purchase in early 1983. Proposed as the "first of what we hope will be a series of Addenda," it includes: documentation of numerous Fluxus items from George Maciunas, Robert Watts, Carla Liss, and Robert Filliou (among many others); reprint of Fluxus newsletter; and an interview of George Maciunas done shortly before his death in 1978. Also laid in is a three-page press release from The Museum of Modern Art from November 1988 announcing its exhibition of the Silverman Collection. An interesting guide to the compelling and sometimes confounding art of the Fluxus movement.
