The book was issued as 300*first proofs for guarantors, 700*copies for subscribers and 500*copies for sale with plates being destroyed post-publishing. This is one of the guarantors' copies and is numbered 132 and signed by Captain Macdonald, RA. Includes colour frontis. and 24*colour illustrations, each protected by glassine. There are also a number of line drawn sketches. +x+131pp. Book is quarter bound in cream cloth with blue paper covered boards to the remainder. Front and rear boards have a Royal Artillery armorial in gilt. The boards are generally rubbed, heavily so to the corners which are also lightly bumped. The cloth spine is soiled with some wrinkles, paper soiled. The pages have been loosely cut leaving an uneven finish. The glassine of several illustrations has some foxing. Book weighs over 2kg, additional postage may be necessary.
