Rare and early report on the San Francisco underground water supply with interesting color maps. Prepared by noted San Francisco City Engineer Michael O'Shaughnessy (1864-1934). He was the builder of the Hetch-Hetchy Water and Power Supply for San Francisco and a number of dams, aqueducts, tunnels, etc. The O'Shaughnessy Dam in California was named in his honour as was a boulevard and sea-wall in San Francisco.
