Paper title label on spine. 12mo. Boards a little worn, gently rubbed at edges and lightly rounded at spine tips. Very slightly cocked. Minor spotting on text block edges. Pages off-white. A collection of stories and tales of a fictional English village, thought to be based on Riseley in North Bedfordshire. Mary Frampton was a pen name of Emily Mary Cook, author of Jamaica. Hard to find title (although a later paperback reprint is a little easier to find).

Original yellow cloth covered boards stamped with an armorial device, vellum spine lettered in gilt, endpapers with faint foxing and the silk tie marker loosely inserted, some edges rough cut. Vellum slightly darkened, cloth lightly discoloured on the rear board, yet a lovely tight, firm, and clean copy of a handsome edition.
