The malacofauna of the Leinebergland (Lower Saxony, Germany) between Einbeck and Alfeld was grid-mapped from 2000 to 2005. Each of the 120 grids of the area was checked at least once, mostly several times. Vital populations of 108 species could be detected; all in all the list of species counts 131 species in this area. Limacus flavus is threatened by extinction in Germany as well as in Lower Saxony. It could be found again as vital population in Einbeck, Alfeld and Lamspringe.
