Andrà Michel Lwoff was a French microbiologist of Russian-Polish origin. Agnes Ullmann was also a noted French microbiologist. She moved from Budapest to Paris in 1958 to work with Jacques Monod, François Jacob and Elie Wollman at Institut Pasteur.
