Hardcover. Zustand: Good. This book is about the experiences of a remarkable group of people (around the small village of Pulverbach, Shropshire during the first half of the 19th century). They did not belong to a sect or denomination or even a congregation, but the author discovered as she was led from one memoir to another and from diaries and letters that there was a divine interweaving of the lives of persons as diverse in occupation as an art tutor, clergyman, a tea merchant, a farm labourer's wife, a French court musician, a shoemaker and others. Of course their experiences were varied, but a mutual love in the unity of the Spirit bound them together under the teaching of Christ in their hearts.

Has bright marbled endpapers, is split between colour fronticspiece and blank page facing decorative colour title page but still firmly attached. The pages of text and illustrations are clean, bright and unmarked. Complete with all 14 chromolithographic plates and 36 monochrome engraved plates, with numerous engraving throughout the text.
