A good, very clean and sound copy in contemporary quarter leather binding, has title decorative gilt on black banded spine, leather corners to dull worn geyish cloth boards with decorative gilt horseshoe encircling horse head on front cover. Has bright marbled endpapers, is split between colour fronticspiece and blank page facing decorative colour title page but still firmly attached. The pages of text and illustrations are clean, bright and unmarked. Complete with all 14 chromolithographic plates and 36 monochrome engraved plates, with numerous engraving throughout the text.
