Their decision to regard life as a permanent performance, and to understand art as a form of life influences all areas of their oeuvre: painting, drawing, installation, video, and photography. With their art, they appropriate public space and investigate its effects on interpersonal relationships. Their analysis of the relation between private and public life delves into current dialogue around being different and the rules of social living and playfully questions our identities, be they national, religious, gender or societal. Six of their most important projects from the last ten years tell stories that walk the tightrope between reality and fantasy through images that range from the profane to the highly artificial.
