First novel by the man who became half of the legendary Hugo & Luigi songwriting and production team who worked with Elvis, Presley, S…am Cooke and others, and wrote The Lion Sleeps Tonight, Can't Help Falling in Love, Twistin' the Night Away, etc. He and his cousin Hugo were posthumously inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2025. This novel follows the recovery of a World War II Navy Pharmacist's Mate, First Class after a sudden case of amnesia after emerging from a movie theater, slow recovery of wartime memories and his experience with fellow patients in the hospital ward. The story explores post war psychological trauma experienced by veterans, likely to produce a diagnosis of post traumatic stress in current times. Black cloth with spine printed in gilt and gray, 243 pages, illustrated dustjacket. The book is in very good condition with good hinges, sound text block, clean pages, no names or other markings. The mylar protected dustjacket is not priceclipped [2.50] and is also very good with a shallow vertical crease to the front panel and spine panel (dustjacket was folded and placed inside the book), edgewear, short closed tear to top edge of rear panel, almost no paper loss. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/Very Good. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
