He was also the stepfather of Nancy Reagan; from Davis' obituary in *The New York Times*: "A conservative, he was said to have been influential in bending his daughter in that direction and, through her, Ronald Reagan.".

The author was also a colorful figure in the history of American medicine, but his stepdaughter's fame eclipsed his (Nancy Davis Reagan).; Signed by Author.
