Colophon page lists this copy as No. 186 of a Limited Edition of 300 copies. A Publisher's review pamphlet regarding a book about illustrator Thomas Lowinsky is tucked under front cover. Despite worn slipcase and some wear on book binding, this Limited Edition copy is in good condition considering age with beautiful illustrations. Binding good and tight. Pages clean and square.

Illustrated, with nine illustrations by Thomas Lowinsky. Lowinsky was an English pinter of Hungarian and South African descent. His wo…rk was primarily portraiture, although often painted fantasy scenes. He illustrated several books including Edith Sitwell's Elegy on Dead Fashion. This collection includes Laver's A Stitch in Time, a pastiche of Pope's The Rape of The Lock set in modern times. It also includes his sequel to A Stitch in Time, Love's Progress in addition to Cupid's Changeling. Laver was an English author, critic, art historian and museum curator. He was Keeper of Prints, Drawings and Paintings for the Victoria and Albert Museum for over ten years. To supplement his pay whilst at the Victoria and Albert Museum he wrote and published poetry. In original orange cloth with paper spine label. Lacking dustwrapper. Externally, lovely condition. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean. Fine. Thomas Lowinsky.
