Good to very good condition for a fragile 1920s photoplay issue. The blue pictorial wrappers remain attractive, with moderate edge wear, small corner creases, and a few short surface scuffs. Spine shows light rubbing and mild stress lines but remains fully intact and legible. The rear cover, featuring cast portraits, is clean with only faint handling marks and minor discoloration. Internally, pages are evenly toned to tan, typical of pulp paper, but supple and unmarked aside from a small ownership signature on the front endpaper. Binding is sound, though slightly shaken at the staples with one small separation beginning at the base of the front hinge. Overall, a bright, complete copy that retains excellent visual presentation for this delicate format. Octavo, 185 pp., photo-illustrated wrappers in black and blue. A Popular Plays and Screen Library photoplay edition issued to accompany the 1926 Warner Bros. silent comedy starring Monte Blue and Marie Prevost, directed by Erle C. Kenton. The rear wrapper reproduces photographic portraits of the film's principal cast, while the front shows a scene from the production. One of a short-lived Warner Bros. promotional series, these early tie-ins were distributed through theatrical and book outlets to advertise the studio's feature films. Scarce, especially in collectible condition, as most were printed on inexpensive stock and heavily handled.

Softcover. Zustand: Good. First Edition. [well-worn copy, with a number of edge-nicks, soiling and creasing to both front and rear covers, small tears at lower hinges; pages age-toned, binding intact]. (Popular Plays and Screen Library) Series (3 B&W film stills) Novelization of the 1926 Warner Bros. film starring Monte Blue and Marie Prevost, and directed by Erle C. Kenton. A note about the writer's credit: although the book mentions only E.T. [Edward T.] Lowe, according to multiple sources the co-writer was one Jack Wagner. (One of those sources also credits Frances Marion, although this is unconfirmed.) The rear cover has six small head shots, of Blue and Prevost and of the movie's other principal players (Phyllis Haver, Huntley Gordon, and John Patrick) and of director Kenton. These Jacobsen-Hodgkinson "photoplay editions" were ultra-cheaply produced, and relatively few have survived the years in decent condition.
