In den WarenkorbThe Broadside announces that an application will be made to Her Justices of the Peace assembled at the Quarter Sessions in and for the County of Durham for the - ' Stepping Up, Turning or Diverting, of two several portions of a certain Public Highway or Foothpath, in the Borough of Darlington, in the said County leading from Darlington, to or toward Coniscliffe Moor, and certain other places in the Township of Low Coniscliffe, . '. The Broadside is signed ( printed ) at the lower end by H. Dunn, the Town Clerk and Clerk to the Local Board of Health, and Urban Sanitary Authority for the Borough of Darlington. Low Coniscliffe is a small village in the civil parish of Low Coniscliffe and Merrybent, in County Durham, England. It is situated 3 miles (4.8 km) west of Darlington. At the time of publication Quarter Sessions were held four times a year - Epiphany, Easter, Midsummer, and Michaelmas sessions. Usually they sat in the seat of each county and county borough, in this case Darlington. Not only did they hear minor crimes they also considered applications for the repair of roads and bridges, and diversions of the highway etc. This is very good surviving example of street literaure in a surprisingly fresh condition.
