Small label pasted to the front cover says 'Ornithology Library'. Original wraps bound in. Pages 218-275, followed by 3 plates of black and white photographs. Small sticker on the front cover with library information (handwritten) noting that this is 'Copy 2'. Additional pencil notations on copyright page with the same numbers. Handwritten on the title page, a librarian has added that 'The Museum' mentioned is the University of Museum of Comparative Zoology at Harvard. Some normal toning from age, but overall good condition. This book is from the collection of Thomas Lovejoy. Dr. Lovejoy was an influential ecologist, field biologist, and activist; former head of the Amazon Biodiversity Center, World Wildlife Fund, and advisor to the United Nations and Smithsonian Institution. He is credited with introducing the term 'biological diversity' to the mainstream environmental movement. In addition, he was a passionate collector of books on the natural world.
