The recipient Louis B. Frewer, Superintendent of Rhodes House Library, Oxford, was a collector of autographs. 1p, long 8vo. On brittle and creased pap…er, with chipping and closed tears to edges, and traces of mount on reverse. The letter carries an embossed Nazi eagle at top left. Headed 'SEKRETARIAT.' and addressed to 'Louis B. Frewer, Esq. / "Tal-y-Fan" / Highfield Avenue / Oxford'. Reads: 'Dear Sir, / the German Ambassador, Herr v. Ribbentrop, has asked me to return to you the enclosed photograph which you sent him to have it autographed. Owing to much work I could not comply with your demand sooner. / Yours faithfully / M. Blank.'.
