A nostalic and looving look at the long vanished Third Avenue Elevated line of the New York City transit system. Elevated lines , or Els, first appeared in the second half of the 19th century and by 1942, only the Third Aveenue El still existed, the others replaced by underground lines. The last train ran on the 3rd Ave. El in 1965.
