Zenker I, 1395. - Einzige Ausgabe dieser ersten zuverlässigen deutschen Koranübersetzung, die den zweiten Teil des Werks (ab S. 505) bildet. Die Ausgabe hatte als Textvorlage die Edition Maraccis von 1696 und löste die frühere deutsche Übersetzung Schweiggers ab, die erstmals 1616 erschienen war. Schweigger hatte eine mangelhafte italienische Übersetzung von 1557 benutzt. - "Der sogenannte 'Nerreter-Koran' erschien in der einzigen hier vorliegenden Ausgabe" (Enay). - Der Nürnberger Theologe D. Nerreter (1649-1726) war seit 1709 Generalsuperintendent in Hinterpommern und Mitglied des Pegnitzischen Blumenordens. (Vgl. ADB XXIII, 437). - Ohne das Frontispiz und die 15 Kupfertafeln welche hier nie beigebunden waren, Exlibris und zeitgenöss. Besitzvermerk auf dem Vorsatz, sehr gutes, dekorativ gebundenes Exemplar. Enay, Koran 154.- Nerreters hier enthaltene Koranausgabe wird als die erste brauchbare Übersetzung ins Deutsche bezeichnet. Der Autor gibt in seiner Vorrede ausführliche Nachrichten über alle früheren Ausgaben und Bearbeitungen des Koran. Der erste Teil ist eine sehr erweiterte Bearbeitung der den Islam betreffenden Abschnitte aus Ross? ?View of all religions?.- David Nerreter (auch in falscher Schreibweise: Nerretter) (* 8. Februar 1649 in Nürnberg; ? 5. Juli 1726 in Stargard in Pommern) war ein lutherischer Theologe, der in Oettingen, in Nürnberg sowie in Pommern als Generalsuperintendent tätig war. Außerdem ist er als Dichter hervorgetreten.Im Jahr 1703 veröffentlichte er das Buch Mahometanische Moschea ? (siehe Werkeverzeichnis). Es handelt sich um die Übersetzung des englischsprachigen Werkes von Alexander Ross (1590?1654) in die deutsche Sprache. Das Buch stellte sich als Ziel die Christen über die Irrlehre des Islams zu informieren, um die geistige Überlegenheit zu demonstrieren. 1600 gr.
