A map of England and Wales with Scotland south of the Firth of Forth, coloured to depict the counties. Besides depicting the roads and early railways, the map names geological deposits, illustrated by several cross-sections. This map is one of several versions of Loader's map, which was first published in 1831, and all titled the 'Scientific and Commercial Map of England and Wales'. It is unusual for the inscription to the map colourist: 'Mounted and Colored by G. Cross, 98, Dean St, Soho'.
