She died very young, only 33 years old - however, her colleagues were so impressed by her that they organised a two volume publication in her honour. Zustand: Très bon état. petit in-4, broché, couverture crème imprimée en noir. Edition originale de ce singulier "roman" très bref : 5 chapitres, et le plus long de 17 lignes ! C'est le manifeste du très exclusif mouvement "bibiste" qu'Adrienne Monnier a défini en ces termes : "Le bibisme cherchait à instaurer le goût du baroque et du primitif. On y honorait les arts sauvages et ces formes d'art populaire qui s'expriment par des fantaisies sur peluche, coffrets en coquillages, cartes postales à surprises, tableaux en timbres-poste, constructions en bouchons, etc. Là où les dadas ont mis le tragique, Bibi mettait la tendresse. Raymonde aimait les formes d'art vagissantes et titubantes comme une mère qui sait bien que tout ça ne deviendra que trop vite grand et sérieux et que rien ne vaut les jeux et les mélanges des commencements". Dédié à Francis Poulenc, un proche et ami de la famille, Bibi-la-Bibiste ne tarda pas à se faire des amis : les "potassons" de Léon-Paul Fargue, mais aussi Ezra Pound qui le reproduit dans The Little Review (numéro de septembre-décembre 1920). Imprimée avec beaucoup de raffinement par Paul Birault (à qui l'on doit l'impression de certains calligrammes d'Apollinaire ainsi que des premiers textes de Max Jacob, Reverdy et Soupault), cette fantaisie ne fut tirée qu'à 50 exemplaires numérotée sur simili-Japon.Fille cadette d'un professeur de médecine, Raymonde Linossier étudia le Droit et les langues orientales avant de rentrer au service photographique du Musée Guimet. A l'instar de Bibi, elle mourut subitement en 1930, à l'âge de 32 ans : "Et ceci est le dernier et le plus tragique chapitre du roman de Bibi-la-Bibiste".

Memorial volume for Raymonde Linossier (1897-1930), an oriental scholar and bibliographer associated with the Musée Guimet - but now best-remembered for her proto-Dada 1918 novel Bibi-la-Bibiste, a translation of which appeared in its entirety in the September, 1920 issue of Little Review, with a glowing endorsement by Ezra Pound.

Envoi autographe signé sur le faux-titre : "A Mademoiselle Bonnière amicalement, 2ème Sur X - 1ère Sur X". Précieux exemplaire avec dédicace au premier amour d'Adrienne Monnier, Suzanne Bonnière ; ils ouvrirent en 1915 la célèbre librairie " La Maison des Amis des Livres ". Raymonde Linossier (1897-1930) était une amie de Léon Paul Fargue et d'Adrienne Monnier. Poète et orientaliste, et muse de Francis Poulenc, Linossier dactylographia à la demande de Joyce une partie du manuscrit d'Ulysse; après avoir terminé 70 pages (en grande partie du chapitre Circé), elle ne put poursuivre son travail pour des raisons personnelles. Joyce était suffisamment reconnaissant de son aide pour qu'il introduise son nom dans l'épisode (" even their wax model Raymonde I visited daily to admire her cobweb hose "). Bibi-la-Bibiste est le roman le plus court de l'histoire de la littérature. Impressionné par son originalité, Ezra Pound le fera reproduire intégralement dans The Little Review.
