Steevens, and edited by his son Lieutenant Colonel Nathaniel Steevens. Published by Warren and Son in 1878.In the decorative publisher's original red cloth, with a frontispiece of Steevens.Serving during a period when Britain were heavily involved within the Napoleonic Wars, and Steevens was particularly active in the Peninsular War, fighting at Roncesvalles. A retrospective account written years after his service, Steevens's inclusion are noteworthy for the intriguing insights that an officer remembers long after their service, including on fellow officers and combat decision-making. In the decorative publisher's original red cloth. Externally, smart, with faint fading marks to the spine and joints, and minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine, and to the extremities. Black end papers are clean, with minor fading spots to rear end paper extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean, with faint spotting to verso of blank and frontispiece.
