My deepest thoughts and best wishes to you and all those you love. Li Ling-Ai. New York, Year of the Rooster, 1981." Wellington Lee (1918-2002) devoted his life to photography and founded the Photo Society of New York. An award at the 1939 New York World's Fair was the first of hundreds of prizes and commendations for his work. Loosely inserted is a long letter from the author to Lee, dated 26 January 1981 and written on the back of a poster advertising cooking classes hosted by Li at the Chinese Cultural Center, New York.
