Both volumes bound with leather spines and corners, with marbled paper over boards. Volume 1 has 478 pages and 8 very nice plates at the rear. Volume 2 has 300 pages and 10 plates. The plates in both volumes are colored. Dr. Ernst Leyden was a specialist in neurological diseases. He lived from 1832-1910. Maroon leather spines are chipped and dry. Remains of small handwritten numbers (on paper label) at the bases of the spines. Bookplates in inside front covers on both volumes from the Massachusetts General Hospital, Treadwell Donation. Bindings are tight, Pages are evenly toned, but without stains or foxing of any sort. Text in original German.
