Remarkable for its diminutive format, this finely produced devotional volume retains its original gilt edges and contains the Vulgate Psalter in the pre-Divino Afflatu recension, a feature increasingly sought after by collectors of traditional Roman liturgical books. The text includes the Officia Propria Sanctorum Leodiensis, providing the proper offices for the Diocese of Liège, as well as the exceedingly scarce supplement Intentiones Breviarii, seldom encountered in surviving copies. Produced during a pivotal period in the history of the Roman Breviary, prior to the twentieth-century liturgical reforms, the volume offers valuable insight into regional and devotional practice in the late nineteenth-century Latin Church.
