Paraphrased from the Foreword by Douglas C, Lovelace, Jr., SSI's Director: The author examines the Operation Iraqi Freedom environment and concludes that the complexity, unpredictability, and ambiguity of postwar Iraq is producing a cohort of innovative, confident, and adaptable junior officers.
