In den WarenkorbCloth. Zustand: Good. A profusely illustrated edition of Late Rev. John Brown's 'The Self-Interpreting Bible'. A lovely example of Late Rev. John Brown's bible. John Brown's (1722-87) Self-interpreting Bible was originally published in 1778. Originally of Scottish farming stock, Brown was orphaned at twelve and became a shepherd. Having little formal schooling he taught himself Latin, Greek and Hebrew and later became a preacher in the Burgher branch of the Secession church. There is one page towards the back (St paul's Epistles) which is missing a section of text, although the page has been mended. The title page has handling marks and perhaps has spent some time without boards. Good. Unamed (illustrator). book.…
