Diese Lücken haben zur Folge, dass relevante Kundeninformationen respektive Produktinformationen nicht in allen Unternehmensbereichen verfügbar sind. Zur Schließung dieser Lücken wurde ein Fachkonzept entwickelt, welches die Ebenen Prozesse, Methoden, IT-Systeme und Daten enthält. Die Prozess-Ebene umfasst eine Erweiterung der Produktentwicklungs-, Produktions-, Marketing-, Vertriebs- und Serviceprozesse um die strukturierte Erfassung, automatische Weitergabe und Nutzung von semantischen Objekten, welche relevantes Kunden- bzw. Produktwissen enthalten. Diese Wissens-Objekte sind mit Hilfe der Feature-Technologie als semantische Features realisiert. Damit wird das Digitale Produktmodell als Träger geometrischer und semantischer Informationen um eine kundenorientierte Sicht erweitert. Die Integration auf Daten- und System-Ebene erfolgt über die Extraktion dieser Sicht aus dem Digitalen Produktmodell und der Erweiterung sowohl produktorientierter als auch kundenorientierter Anwendungssysteme. Hierdurch wird es möglich, Kunden- und Produktwissen über bisher isoliert eingesetzte etablierte Methoden hinweg zu nutzen und zu entwickeln. Die Anwendbarkeit des Fachkonzepts wird mit Hilfe einer prototypischen Realisierung gezeigt. Die Erkenntnisse dieser Arbeit leisten einen Beitrag zur Diskussion über Möglichkeiten und Grenzen der Integration von produktorientiertem Kundenwissen in industriellen Unternehmen. Hierbei konnte gezeigt werden, dass mit Hilfe der Feature-Technologie und der Erweiterung etablierter Methoden, Prozesse und IT-Systeme ein bisher ungenutztes Potential erschlossen werden kann.
