An important English translation of Plutarch's parallel Lives, first published in six volumes in 1770. Provenance: Armorial bookplate of the Earl of Normanton, an Irish peer (almost certainly the 3rd Earl, James Agar, 1818-1896) a Peelite and Tory MP for Wilton, Hampshire).
